INTEGR8 is a file access system that allows data sharing betweenincompatible computers on a network. With INTEGR8, users can run theirapplications on the most appropriate computer and access data on anothercomputer even if the two systems are binary-incompatible. INTEGR8provides true interoperability because data is shared between computerswith binary data conversion performed on the fly. By keeping dataresident on one system, problems with data duplications andsynchronization are eliminated. INTEGR8 resolves differences in byteordering, floating point formats, data alignment, and record structures.INTEGR8 operates over Ethernet networks running either the TCP/IP orDECnet protocols.
